An ageing couple seeking to consolidate the living requirements for themselves and their adult son with special needs requirements.

Located in a dense inner suburban area, the existing home is a double fronted edwardian on a relatively generous sized block with two street frontages.

The proposal is for an addition and alterations to upgrade the existing home with a stand alone unit to the rear of the block on a separate title. Both properties need to be low maintenance, practical, energy efficient and designed for easy access. Using the constraints of the surrounding context, the proposal maximises available sunlight to the new living spaces and integrates with the existing robust fabric of the rear garage and street.
